Vacancies

  1. An office in the Senate shall become vacant upon the death, resignation, expulsion or disqualification of the individual entitled to hold the office.

  2. An officer shall be deemed to have resigned upon submission of a written statement of resignation to the Senate Chair, or, in the case of the resignation of the Chair, to the Senate Secretary.

  3. An officer shall be deemed to be removed upon passage of an order of removal by the Senate, which shall require a majority of the membership of the Senate. The removal shall take effect upon the receipt of written notice from the Senate Chair or the Senate Secretary.

  4. An officer shall be deemed to be disqualified upon violating the qualifications for Senate officers as laid down in the Constitution or these By-Laws. The disqualification shall take effect upon written notice from the Senate Chair or the Senate Secretary.
