To make the ASSU sound better
Senate Bill 1-CA-3
Submitted for previous notice: 28 May 1996
Action requested: Placement on Ballot; requires two-thirds majority
- WHEREAS
- the name ``ASSU'' has been so criticized and mutilated in the media as
to make being an ``ASSU Senator'' an unbearably awful title, and
- WHEREAS
- I think the name ``ASSU'' really sucks, and
- WHEREAS
- if we change the name of the organization such that it's acronym is
``ASS'', everyone will stop using the acronym and start properly calling it
the ``Association'',
- THEREFORE
- be it
enacted by the Senate of this Association
- THAT
- Article I, Section 1 of the ASSU Constitution be amended to read:
The name of the organization under this Constitution shall be the
Associated Students of Stanford, hereafter referred to as the ``Association.''
and
- THAT
- the above be placed on the ballot for the 1997 Spring Quarter general
election.
