Conflicts of Interest

  1. On any vote any voting Senator may notify the Chair that a conflict of interest exists which prevents the Senator from casting a vote on the issue in question. The Senator in question shall be excused from voting on this issue, and during meetings of the Senate the highest alternate from his/her district present shall be entitled to vote.

  2. On any vote appointing or certifying a voting Senator to an office a conflict of interest shall be assumed to exist.

  3. On any vote appropriating funds to a student organization of which a voting Senator is an officer, a conflict of interest shall be assumed to exist.
