Founded in 1884. Edited jointly by Princeton University and the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS). The editors are world leaders in mathematics: Jean Bourgain, Phillip Griffiths, Robert MacPherson, Peter Sarnak, Ya. Sinai, and Andrew Wiles, all from either Princeton or IAS. All volumes since 1994 have open access. The rest is in JSTOR.  The electronic version is hosted by EMIS, The European Mathematical Information Service on 40 mirror sites around the world. The printed version is sold by The Johns Hopkins University Press. Annual subscription: institutions $250, individual $68.


Bulletin of the American Mathematical Society
The first open access issue of the New Series appeared in 1996. The American Mathematical Society was founded in 1887. The society publishes several journals, two of which have open access, this Bulletin and the Electronic Research Announcements.  Annual subscription: institutinal members $300, individual member $225.

The Electronic Jouranl of Combinatorics

The first issue appeard in 1994. Published with the cooperation of the American Mathematical Society. Has more than 40 mirror sites. Copyright is retained by the authors. Whenever a new paper appears, its abstract is distributed by e-mail with no charge to a mailing list. Sign up at http://cs.anu.edu.au/mailman/listinfo/ejc-list.  There is no charge for this service. The printed version is sold by International Press. Annual subscription: institutions $120, individual $60. 

ELECTRONIC Journal of LINEAR ALGEBRA

First issue appeared in 1996. Published by ILAS - The International Linear Algebra Society.  


Electronic Research Announcements of the American Mathematical Society
First issue appeared in 1995. The entire editorial board (23 leading mathematicians) must approve the acceptance of any paper. The American Mathematical Society was founded in 1887. The society publishes several journals, two of which have open access, these Annocements and the Bulletin.

Journal of Machine Learning Research (JMLR)

First issue appeared in October 2000 after the resignation of the editorial board of Kluwer's Machine Learning. Hosted at M.I.T. Copyright is retained by the authors. According to the JMLR web site (http://www.jmlr.org), “The ISI impact factor of JMLR in 2002 is 3.818, which gives it the highest impact factor of all journals in artificial intelligence. The acceptance rate to date is 27%. JMLR will be abstracted and/or indexed by: Zentralblatt MATH , Mathematical Reviews/MathSciNet, Linguistics Abstracts,  EBSCO , PsycINFO/Psychological Abstracts , INSPEC.”   A paper volume (ISSN 1532-4435) is published 8 times annually and sold to libraries and individuals by The MIT Press. Annual subscription: institutions $400, individual $75.

Pacific Journal of Mathematics

First issue of the Electronic PJM is Vol. 177 (1997) of the maturejournal .  Supported by more than 30 institutions. Subscriptions to the print version: $340 a year (10 issues); special rate: $150 a year to individual members of the supporting institutions.
